Water Leaks
A leak in your mind may just be a little drip or stream but when left unaddressed for a period of time problems will arise. There are two things that all leaks have in common. They will cause damage of some sort and they will worsen over time. One of the biggest plumbing problems that any home or business owner can face would have to be water leaks. Water leaks can start just about anywhere any time. It could be a very simple leak like a leaky faucet or sink, but some leaks are worse. They are silent, they are very hard to detect, and by the time you find them, the damage has already been done. These types of leaks if not fixed can result in a major leak causing damage and flood in your house. These types of leaks can cause massive damage to your home or place of business simply because they were never detected and fixed in time. Most materials that are used in construction are not waterproof. Most of them are not even water resistant. What happens when metal sits in water? It starts to rust, and rust can cause metal to become weaker. What happens when wood or drywall sits in water? It soaks up the water and starts to rot. Rust can lead to all sorts of problems. It can make the material structurally unsound and weak, and the buildup of water causes one thing that no one wants to deal with, mold.

These silent leaks usually go unnoticed for quite a while. The first sign is usually a jump in your water bill. If you have noticed a spike in your water bill, and there have not been any massive rate increases. You could have a leak that you don't know about yet, and while you sit there and ponder why your water bill has suddenly gotten so high, the water from the leak is slowly damaging the inside of your home or business and possibly causing mold growth. It doesn't always happen this way. You may know that you have a leak, but you just can't seem to find the source. Every minute that you wait, is a minute that the water from the leak could be doing damage. In that situation Mr. Drain ® Plumbing is the only plumbing company you deserve. Equipped with the latest technology our experts can locate any minor or major leak from a pinhole to an exposed broken pipe.

Water Leaks in Walls
Much of home plumbing is hidden behind walls. Years ago, plumbing was left exposed so that if it needed repairing, access would not be a problem. But since the mid- to late '60s, plumbing was moved inside the walls for aesthetic reasons. So when water or drainpipes leak, it is necessary to open the wall to fix the problem. It is not that difficult, however, and, depending on the severity of the problem, it can be done in half a day. Many water leaks can go undetected, with little damage to the surrounding area, for a long time. Look for wet or moldy areas on the floor at the baseboard or along the wall. Many times a musty smell will accompany a water leak. If the water leak in walls is not addressed in timely manner it can result in demoing whole wall including framing insulation, dry wall electrical that can result in heavy amount of investment. Why not call professionals at Mr. Drain ® Plumbing . You will know the price before we start. Our experts will detect any minor or major leaks in the walls with out cutting drywall and sheetrock by using infrared scanners and micro cameras because latest technology is what makes us leader in detecting any leaks. Water Leaks in Ceiling.
Water coming through a ceiling is the same sign like water coming from walls. There are mostly threemajor reasons for the water leaks in ceiling, either a toilet, shower, tub or the drainpipes resultedin leak, shower valve started leaking because of worn parts in side or cracks on connections, water lines started leaking from rust due to old galvanized pipes or metal touching copper water lines caused electrolysis which resulted in water leak. A leaking water pipe in your ceiling can cause damage and wreak havoc until it's fixed. Possible signs of a problem include a wet ceiling, water stains, mold growth or water dripping from the ceiling. The source of the leak may not always be directly above the visible damage, however. Water can run along piping or rafters until it drips onto the ceiling. No matter what kind of leak it is Mr. Drain ® Plumbing will find any hidden leaks in ceiling. You may can hit with surprising high water bill that's a sign that you have a slab leak some where in your home or property. Like other leak situations slab leak is also a serious issue. It can effect the foundation of a house and if the leak is left unattended it can result into some serious damages.

Water Leaks in Irrigation Lines
If an earthquake or an errant shovel bursts your irrigation pipes, you know it instantly. But smaller leaks can go undetected for months-- until you realize that your water bill has skyrocketed, or you've got a patch of soggy ground that won't dry out.A broken or leaking irrigation line can also be the reason of high water bill. Broken irrigation lines can cause a great deal of trouble. If water flows out through a busted segment of piping, plants in the immediate area can receive too much water while others go thirsty. Just a small leak can decrease water pressure and volume. If the water volume is high enough, a leak can even damage property and cause mudslides. Therefore, it's important to try to prevent irrigation line problems like breaks from happening and know how to repair them if they occur. Like other leaks the irrigation leaks can also result in structural damage, settling of landscape, settling of pavement, cracks in slab, and other damages if left unattended.

How Irrigation Lines Leak
Broken sprinkler heads
Weak output and improper coverage from sprinkler heads
Brown spots on your lawn
The lowest sprinkler head in your system leaks constantly long after the system has turned off
The water meter has a continual slow spin.
You observe wet or soggy spots in your lawn
Your meter or valve boxes are continually filled with water
You have higher water bills than normal during the summer

Water Leaks in Main Service Line
Water Leaks aren't always obvious and can often lead to higher water bills. Most leaks are easy to fix, while others can become a nightmare and costly to repair if they are not repaired in timely manner.

Your City is responsible for repairing leaks on its water meters and water mains. If there is a leak on the customer's service line then it is the home or property owners responsibility to fix the leak. This includes all water pipe between the water meter and the building, the irrigation system or indoor plumbing. Toilets are the most common leak culprit, so always check toilets first to ensure you're not wasting water. The portion of the water main from the street to the meter is the responsibility of the city and the portion of the water main from the meter to the property is the responsibility of property owner. If you suspect that your water pipes are leaking because your water bill has gone through the roof, there's a damp or muddy spot on the lawn and the rest of the yard is bone dry or you actually can see water spraying up through the ground, you can take several steps to repair the damage. It isn't incredibly easy to repair a broken underground water line, but it is doable.Just call Mr. Drain ® Plumbing today to locate the water leak and save you money if we find the leak on the City Side. Water Leaks because High water Pressure
High water pressure is generally considered anything above 60 lbs. Your homes fixtures and appliances are made to operate on 55-60 lbs. of pressure (PSI). Pressure in excess of 55-60 PSI can create excess stress on your plumbing and fixtures and can cause things like toilets to run, leaking water heaters, banging water pipes, dripping faucets, dishwasher and clothes washer noise and breakdown, and leaking water pipes. Installation of a pressure regulator will keep your pressure at the ideal 55-60 PSI. If you have old pipes like galvanized metal pipes or rusted old copper pipes in slab they will start leaking from rusted joints. According to the California Plumbing Code (and the Uniform Plumbing Code which it is based on) if the incoming water pressure at a structure is above 80 psi, it must be reduced. High water pressure is both damaging to plumbing systems as well as a contributor to millions of gallons of wasted water. If your water pressure is above 80 psi, a pressure regulator is not only highly recommended it's required under the plumbing code. Lowering your water pressure to a safe level, between 55 and 65 psi, will prolong the life of your appliances, pipes, faucets and fixtures. In addition to extending the life of your plumbing, you can also save thousands of gallons of wasted water by lowering the pressure. The installation of a PRV (Pressure Regulating Valve) is a fairly simple and affordable job that will more than pay for itself.Mr. Drain ® Plumbing will check the water pressure in your house free of cost with any plumbing or drain service. That's a Mr. Drain ® Promise. Call Mr. Drain ® Plumbing today before your water lines leak due to a high water pressure.Check our leak detection page for more details. Learn More...
